Pallets Built for Production
Manufacturing operations demand pallets that can handle extreme loads, non-standard dimensions, and the rigors of heavy industrial handling. A pallet failure on a production line doesn't just damage product — it stops production, creates safety hazards, and costs thousands in downtime.
We serve manufacturers across Southern California in sectors including automotive parts, electronics assembly, metal fabrication, plastics molding, aerospace components, and consumer goods production. Each sector has unique requirements, and we tailor our pallet programs accordingly.
Manufacturing clients often need capabilities beyond standard pallets: custom dimensions to fit specific products, reinforced construction for loads exceeding 3,000 lbs, heat treatment for export shipments, and just-in-time delivery synchronized with production schedules.
Manufacturing Capabilities
Heavy-Duty Load Ratings
Standard pallets handle 2,500 lbs. For manufacturing, we offer reinforced pallets rated up to 5,000 lbs static and 3,500 lbs dynamic. These use thicker stringers (2×6 instead of 2×4), hardwood construction, and additional fasteners at stress points.
Custom Dimensions
Manufacturing products don't always fit standard 48×40 pallets. We supply custom sizes from 24×24 to 72×60, including oversize pallets for sheet goods, machinery, and assembled products. Custom orders are available with 5-7 business day lead time.
Block Pallets for Automation
Automated manufacturing environments with conveyor systems, robotic palletizers, and AS/RS require block pallets with true four-way entry and tight dimensional tolerances. We stock block pallets in standard and custom sizes.
Export-Ready (ISPM 15)
Manufacturers shipping internationally need ISPM 15-certified pallets. All our export pallets are heat-treated and stamped. We maintain separate inventory for export-grade pallets to ensure immediate availability.
Just-In-Time Delivery
Manufacturing runs on schedules. We offer JIT pallet delivery synchronized with your production calendar. Weekly standing orders, bi-weekly delivery, or custom schedules — we flex to match your production rhythm.
Specialty Materials
Some manufacturing environments require non-wood pallets: plastic for clean rooms and chemical processing, metal for extreme heat applications, or anti-static materials for electronics. We source and supply specialty pallet materials.
Manufacturing Sectors We Support
Automotive & Aerospace
Heavy-duty pallets for engine blocks, body panels, assemblies. Metal and reinforced wood options for extreme weights. Custom crating for oversized aerospace components.
Electronics & Semiconductors
Clean, contaminant-free pallets for sensitive electronics. Anti-static options available. Precise dimensional control for automated assembly line integration.
Plastics & Packaging
Standard and custom pallets for injection molding operations, film rolls, resin bags, and finished packaging products. High-volume supply with weekly delivery.
Metal Fabrication
Extra-strong pallets for sheet metal, structural steel, castings, and machined parts. Custom sizes for long or wide stock. Weather-resistant options for outdoor staging.
Consumer Goods
Retail-ready pallets for consumer products going directly to store shelves or DCs. Grade A appearance for customer-facing shipments. Mixed-size inventory for diverse product lines.
Chemical & Coatings
Pallets rated for drum and tote loads. Spill-resistant options. Contamination tracking to ensure pallets from chemical environments don't enter food-grade streams.
The Cost of Getting It Wrong
Average cost of a pallet-related production line stoppage, including downtime, labor, damaged product, and expedited replacement.
Of product damage claims in manufacturing trace back to pallet failure. Under-specified pallets are the most common root cause.
Pallet-related line stoppages experienced by our manufacturing clients in 2024. Zero. Because we match the right pallet to every application.
Pallet Load Capacity by Construction
Every manufacturing application has a different weight profile. Choosing the right pallet construction prevents product damage, protects workers, and keeps production lines running. Below are our standard configurations — custom engineering is available for loads outside these ranges.
| Configuration | Dynamic Load | Static Load | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Stringer | 2,500 lb | 5,000 lb | General manufacturing, light assembly, consumer goods |
| Reinforced Stringer | 3,500 lb | 7,000 lb | Metal parts, automotive components, heavy assemblies |
| Standard Block | 4,000 lb | 8,000 lb | Automated lines, conveyor systems, 4-way forklift access |
| Heavy-Duty Block | 5,000 lb | 10,000 lb | Engine blocks, steel castings, heavy machinery components |
| Custom Reinforced | Up to 6,600 lb | Custom | Aerospace, oversize equipment, specialty engineering |
Dynamic load = maximum weight when the pallet is being moved (forklift, conveyor, pallet jack).
Static load = maximum weight when the pallet is stationary on a flat surface or racked.
All ratings assume uniform load distribution. Point loads, off-center loads, or cantilever conditions reduce capacity. We recommend a 20% safety factor for critical applications.
Common Custom Sizes for Manufacturing
Standard 48×40 pallets work for most applications, but manufacturing often demands non-standard dimensions. These are the most popular custom sizes we build for Southern California manufacturers.
| Size (in) | Common Use | Typical Load Rating | Lead Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 48 × 45 | Automotive parts & assemblies | 3,500 lb dynamic | 5–7 days |
| 60 × 48 | Large equipment & machinery | 4,000 lb dynamic | 5–7 days |
| 72 × 48 | Sheet goods, panels, lumber | 3,000 lb dynamic | 5–7 days |
| 36 × 36 | Small parts bins, subassemblies | 2,500 lb dynamic | 5–7 days |
| 24 × 20 | Display pallets, mini-loads | 1,500 lb dynamic | 5–7 days |
Any custom size is available — these are simply the most commonly requested. Custom dimensions carry a standard 5–7 business day lead time from order confirmation. Rush production is available for an additional fee. Contact us with your exact specifications for a same-day quote.
Pallet Programs for Lean Operations
Modern manufacturing runs on lean principles. Your pallet supply should too. We design delivery programs that eliminate waste, reduce floor clutter, and keep material flowing at the pace your production line demands.
JIT Delivery
Pallets arrive exactly when your production schedule calls for them — not a week early taking up floor space, and never a day late holding up a line. We sync deliveries to your production calendar so you carry zero excess pallet inventory.
Kanban-Style Replenishment
Set a minimum stock trigger point and we handle the rest. When your pallet inventory hits the threshold, a replenishment order fires automatically. No purchase orders, no phone calls, no stockouts. Continuous flow, zero interruption.
5S Compliance
Consistent pallet sizing across your facility means standardized stacking, cleaner staging areas, and simplified visual management. We supply uniform pallets that support Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain on your production floor.
Waste Reduction
Recycled and refurbished pallets align directly with lean waste elimination. Every pallet we recondition is one fewer pallet in a landfill — and costs you 40–60% less than new. Sustainability and lean manufacturing share the same goal: zero waste.
